“Caught up in plastic”
Plastic bags are used for approximately 12 minutes before they get thrown away, but little do people know they can remain on earth for up to 1000 years, usually in our oceans.
As a result, more than 100 000 animals die every year in the oceans from being entangled or eating plastic.
We have become so used to this throw away culture that we don’t even think twice about what we throw away or where it ends up going. The day that I realised how much I actually throw away the crippling awareness kicked in and it made me so angry and frustrated. I felt hopeless. As I thought only the big companies could do something about it.
But actually they only have the power because i purchased their product. So even just being more aware of how the products that you buy are made will help.
